In Q1 2024, 25 batches (14,668.36 kg) of dairy products were barred from entering China according to information released by the Import and Export Food Safety Bureau of the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC). Those rejected included:

Jan: 7 batches (12,212.4 kg) of cheese, modified milk (powder), ice cream, MPC and camel milk powder. The latter (made in Kazakhstan) was disqualified due to fat and protein levels not conforming to the national standard: for camel milk powder imports, fat content should be ≥28.0 g/100g and protein content ≥36% MSNF

Feb: 14 batches (1,993.66 kg) including ice cream, whole milk and cheese. The whole milk made by Oceania Dairy Ltd was disqualified based on package, texture, aroma and taste; Theland New Cloud (Shanghai) Digimart Limited, the importer, said some damages may have been caused in transit.

March: only 4 batches (462.3 kg) including lactobacillus powders, yoghurt and whey protein powder.
